A woman was found dead in an Irvine flat with police treating the incident as unexplained but not suspicious.
Police were made aware of the sudden death of the 36-year-old just before 5am this morning [Thursday] with officers observed outside the property most of the day.
Police Scotland confirmed there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances with a report to be submitted in due course.
A spokesperson said: "We were made aware of the sudden death of a 36-year-old woman at a property on Gottries Road in Irvine around 4.40am on Thursday, October 22.
"The death is being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances."
"A report will be submitted to the Procruator Fiscal in due course."
