Contract tracing is now underway at an Irvine secondary school after a member of staff is understood to have been infected.

The test and protect team has told a number of individuals to self-isolate at Greenwood Academy after an infection with health bosses adding that every measure is being taken to protect kids and staff.

Joy Tomlinson, Joint Director of Public Health said: "NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s Test and Protect team is conducting contact tracing within Greenwood Academy in North Ayrshire council area.

"A small number of individuals are being contacted by the Test and Protect team and told to self-isolate at home for 14 days.
