THE body of a man has been found in a river in Paisley.
Police say formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of missing Irvine man Evan Reid have been informed.
The 31-year-old has been missing for more than two weeks, having last been seen getting of a train in Paisley on Saturday, March 25.
Officers confirmed the discovery, in White Cart Water in the town, today, Monday April 10.
They say that there are no apparent suspicious circumstances at this time and that report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man was found in the White Cart Water near Arran Avenue in Paisley around 9.55am on Monday, April 10.
"He is still to be formally identified, but the family of Evan Reid, 31, who had been reported missing on Saturday, MArch 25, have been made aware.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
