Police searching for missing Irvine woman Nicola Pirrie have discovered a body, it was confirmed this morning.
And while formal identification has yet to be confirmed, her family have been made aware.
Nicola, 50, was reported missing four days ago.
Her last known location was the Bourtreehill area of the town, where she was sighted around 1pm on Friday, July 19.
A police spokesperson said this morning: "Around 9.15pm on Monday, July 22, 2024, the body of a woman was found near Slate Mill Gardens, Irvine.
"Formal identification has still to take place but the family of 50-year-old Nicola Pirrie, who was reported missing from the area, have been made aware."
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
