Sting is the first headliner confirmed for the 2025 Latitude Festival.
The former Police frontman, 72, will bring his Sting 3.0 tour, with long-time guitarist Dominic Miller, and Mumford & Sons touring drummer Chris Maas, to the main stage at Henham Park, Suffolk, next July.
The series of shows showcases his solo and band’s back catalogue, including songs such as Fields Of Gold, Demolition Man, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take, Roxanne, and Message In A Bottle.
Melvin Benn, Latitude Festival director, said: “We’re thrilled to announce Sting as our first headliner for Latitude 2025.
“His unparalleled artistry and the exciting new direction of the Sting 3.0 shows perfectly align with Latitude’s mission to deliver a rich and diverse cultural experience.
“Sting’s extraordinary ability to transcend musical boundaries and deliver unforgettable live performances makes him an exceptional addition to next year’s line-up.
“Latitude is known for captivating audiences with a mix of global headliners and emerging talent, and Sting is just the first of many incredible acts to be revealed — there’s much more to come.”
The 17-time Grammy winner, whose real name Gordon Sumner, has won various accolades including an Ivors Academy fellowship, and the prestigious Polar Music Prize.
He has also been given four Oscar nods, for original songs for films such as The Emperor’s New Groove and Cold Mountain, along with earning a Golden Globe for Kate & Leopold, and an Emmy for a concert show in Tuscany that aired on TV.
Sting will also headline the Isle of Wight festival, along with performing at Forest Live in Tetbury and Cannock Chase, Liverpool’s On the Waterfront, Glasgow Summer Sessions, and Cardiff Castle’s Depot Live throughout the UK in June and July 2025.
Last year, Latitude was headlined by Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar along with Duran Duran.
A further announcement on the line-up is scheduled in a few weeks.
Tickets are on sale for the festival, running from July 24 to July 27, now.
