SHOPPERS in Irvine were recently paid a visit by two furry fundraisers as they helped to raise awareness for charity.
Specsavers in the town hosted the charity event as they invited customers to meet hearing support dogs Inca and Bailey.
Held by the audiology team at the opticians in the Rivergate Shopping Mall, members of Hearing Dogs and Hearing Links also took part to raise money for the charities.
The visit from the pair of golden retrievers proved a hit as not only did it raise money for the organisations, it helped to raise awareness of the importance of regular hearing checks.
The Irvine branch runs an audiology clinic in-store from a state-of-the-art test room, which is equipped with the latest soundproof technology and clinical apparatus for audiology services.
They also offer free hearing checks and advice from their dedicated hearing aid professionals in the Rivergate.
Thomas Allison, audiology director for Specsavers Irvine, says: “We are always excited to welcome Hearing Dogs and Hearing Links to our store to help share the important work they do to support those in our community who really need it.
“We are really grateful for everyone who paid our team and our wonderful canine companions Bailey and Inca a visit on the day and generously donated towards supporting their continued efforts.”

Linda Fulton, store directors, said: “All donations would be a fantastic help to those in the local area who need it.”
