A teenage cyclist has suffered minor injuries after being involved in a road crash in Irvine this morning.
The incident is believed to have happened between 8.30am and 8.45am on Townhead when a 16-year-old male who was on his bike was allegedly hit by a car.
Police Scotland were alerted just before 9.20am this morning and spoke with the cyclist involved who did not need medical attention.
Officers have since closed their enquiry into the incident and said “no criminality has been established”.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "At 9:19am on Thursday, April 22, police received a report that a 16-year-old boy, whilst cycling had been involved in a minor road traffic collision with a car on Townhead, Irvine between 8:30am and 08:45am that morning.
"Roads Policing Officers attended and spoke with the cyclist, who had suffered only minor injuries. No criminality has been established and the enquiry is closed."
