A woman was injured in Eglinton Park when a stone struck her head after being propelled towards her by a lawnmover blade – with the council confirming its officers are probing the incident.
A council gardener was cutting the grass in the Eglinton Park area when a stone was hit by the lawnmower propeller.
The stone reportedly then hit a woman on the head causing injuries before she was taken away by an ambulance on Tuesday [May 11].
North Ayrshire Council confirmed that health and safety officers were looking into the incident and gave their thoughts to the woman.
A spokesperson said: “This is obviously a very unfortunate incident and we hope the person involved makes a quick and full recovery.
“Our health and safety team are investigating the circumstances thoroughly and we will await their report before drawing any conclusions.”
