A CAMPAIGN set up by a Kilwinning PR expert to support the hospitality industry has been given a cash boost of £30,000.
Hospitality Rising is a campaign set up by Mark McCulloch to encourage people to choose a career in the hospitality industry.
And so far, businesses including Buzzworks, Roadchef, Cote and Fourth have supported it with cash donations.
Inspired by the clients Mark works with all over the world, he decided to take action.
Since the Times first reported his campaign two weeks ago, more than 500 companies have signed up to support it.
Now the campaign is gathering speed, Mark is hoping to raise £250,000 to create an advertising campaign aimed at school leavers and young people who are looking for work.
Mark explained: “We have raised £30k to date from Cote, Fourth, Buzzworks, Roadchef and a few other great companies and suppliers. Some companies have confirmed they are in but need to work out their budgets.
“We are seeking to raise initial funding to buy a creative advertising solution and media space for a national recruitment campaign to launch this year aimed at promoting hospitality as a career and employer of choice.
“It will target anyone who would be open to switching to hospitality, those who have left hospitality, teachers, young people and school children – as the nation’s favourite first job.
“We want to put a big spotlight on the best employers in the market and keep this industry alive and kicking.”
If you would like to get involved in the campaign email Mark at hello@hospitalityrising.org to pledge your support.
