Irvine’s MP had lots of fun learning about the wonders Bingo brings to communities after an Irvine hall helped raise over £66k to help the NHS.
Dr Philippa Whitford paid a visit last month to mark National Bingo Day – with clubs celebrating all that bingo provides communities.
Dr Whitford said: “My thanks to manager, Gillian, and Jane for their kind welcome to Buzz Bingo in Irvine to hear about their activities during National Bingo week, including the charity game on June 25 and National Bingo Day on 27. As well as the children’s charities that will gain from the charity games, they have raised over £66,000 so far for the NHS!
“It was good to hear about the Buzz Buddies scheme, whereby managers kept in contact with some of their regular customers during lockdown to see if they needed any help and also just to have a wee blether to help combat loneliness.
“I was impressed by how well laid out the centre is to make it as #COVIDsecure as possible.”
