Scotrail has reopened its line between Ayr and Glasgow and Ardrossan and Glasgow after trains were cancelled last night [Monday, August, 9] due to heavy flooding.
All trains that passed through these stops were cancelled for the majority of the evening with replacement bus services in operation.
The train line to and from Glasgow to parts of Ayrshire has closed due to heavy flooding on the tracks near Johnstone and Millken Park.
Scotrail has advised customers that their tickets will be valid on Stagecoach buses.
These include:
4: Glasgow - Ayr.
11: Kilwinning - Ardrossan.
14: Irvine - Ayr.
585: Irvine - Ayr.
X34: Glasgow - Saltcoats.
X36: Glasgow - Stevenson.
X77: Glasgow - Ayr.
The line will remain closed until water has dropped to a suitable level.
NEW: Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Milliken Park and Johnstone the line is closed. For safety reason, trains will be unable to run through this area until the water level drops to a more suitable level. pic.twitter.com/S2Agz1ECWn
