Major military exercise in North Ayrshire skies this week
A major military exercise will take place in the skies above Scotland this week, including in North Ayrshire.
Exercise Typhoon Warrior will take place on August 17, 19, 24 and 26, and will involve British and American planes and helicopters.
The exercise will take place each day between 8:30am and 2:15pm, and residents are being warned that loud noises are possible.
The activities will involve up to 60 aircraft and will include fast jets, surveillance aircraft, and air to air refuelling.
Aircraft may go as low as 100 feet in some cases across the exercise dates.
