MORE than 150 runners from across Ayrshire and beyond descended on Irvine last week for the return of the annual Marymass 10k.

With conditions near perfect for the run, some fast times were on the cards and the cream of the crop did not disappoint.

Ayr Seaforth’s Kenneth Neill was the first athlete home in a speedy 33.04 to secure a comfortable victory over Greg Templeton, from Bellahouston Harriers, in 33.31 and Kilmarnock’s Paul Lafferty coming in third in an impressive 35.57.
