An elderly passenger was seriously injured and taken to hospital after being thrown from their bus seat last Tuesday [September 14]
Police are looking for witnesses after a bus was involved in a road traffic incident on Kilwinning Road, Irvine.
Around 4pm a yellow Shuttle Bus was travelling towards Kilwinning, near to Carrick Drive, Irvine it was forced to emergency brake when the car in front suddenly and without warning performed a U-turn.
A 72-year-old woman who was a passenger on the bus was thrown from her seat and sustained a serious injury to her forehead which required hospital treatment.
PC Terry, of Irvine Police Office said: “This has been a traumatic incident for the injured passenger, and we are are grateful to the other passengers who provided immediate first aid and reassurance to her."
"We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, have information that will assist or who may have dashcam footage from Kilwinning Road, Irvine at the material time to contact us on 101 quoting incident 2058 of the 14/09, thanks.”
