A STUNNING ten metre tall puppet made from entirely recycled and natural resources invaded Irvine’s harbourside to fight litter and raise awareness of sea pollution.

Residents turned out in force to brave the weather on Saturday as Storm rose from the sea at noon as part of her national coastal tour across Scotlands coastal spots.

The 10-metre tall puppet made from entirely recycled and natural resources strode down the Harbourside toward’s the town’s Maritime Museum – helped by 70 volunteers who tidied up the area beforehand.

This was to help encouraging us all to celebrate our seas, care for our coastlines and empower us to protect them from litter, pollution and put the environment first.

A spokesperson from Irvine Clean-Up Crew said “Huge thanks to all 70 volunteers

who took part in the Beach Clean before Storm arrives event before the amazing Storm walked along the Harbourside to Scottish Maritime Museum.

After the big event, Nicola Scott, Exhibitions and Events Officer at the Scottish Maritime Museum said: “The Storm walk is also a big thank you to everyone who has taken part in the Summer Community Clean Up events we have led alongside our friends at Irvine Clean Up Crew, Rubbish Paddlers and Irvine Sea Cadets.
