Residents both young and old have been having lots of fun trying their hands at a Kilwinning park’s new equipment.
Work was completed on McGavin Park’s new assault course, suitable for all ages, earlier in the month to help keep people in the town fit this Autumn.
The busy park is already a big hit with fitness fans who regularly take to the outdoor gym equipment for a workout outdoors after it was installed thanks to Kilwinning Community Events last year.
Now the park is busier than ever as people enjoy getting outdoors for their daily walk, run and catch ups over lockdowns.
The group are now trying to address drainage issues in the park and thanked residents for their patience.
Kilwinning Community Events said: “Last year we were finishing off phase two of the installation of gym and play equipment.
“We did not think a year later we would be installing more play equipment and an assault course. Plus we are trying to tackle some of the parks drainage issues as well.
“We thank you for your patience and ongoing support.”
The park’s next big event will be the firework display on Friday, November 5.
Other towns have cancelled their displays but having hosted events during the last few months at the park the team is confident it will go ahead.
Kilwinning Community Events will also be hosting a panto this year, Puss in Boots.
Well done to all the volunteers!
