NEW bins at a park in North Ayrshire have been targeted by vandals after they were set on fire.
Earlier this year, Eglinton park received new larger bins through Nature Scot's Better Places Green Recovery Fund, a public fund which helps communities and destinations develop plans for pro-active visitor management in nature 'hot spot' locations across Scotland.
However, the Country Park has already reported that one of them has been damaged, with the photos revealing fire damage to the bin and its outside container.
A post on Eglinton Country Park's Facebook page said: "We were grateful to receive new larger bins through the #BetterPlacesFund this year, and I'm very sad to report that one of them has been damaged already
"Clearly, not everyone appreciates our beautiful Park and it's facilities, but you can help us by reporting any antisocial behaviour you may see - please don't approach - just phone 101 and report what you witness. Thank you."
North Ayrshire Council has been approached for comment.
