A DREGHORN man appeared in court accused of posting threatening social media comments about a council employee which allegedly caused fear and alarm.
John Bell, 46, appeared last week to face an allegation that he breached the Communications Act on October 6, 2020 by posting comments which it’s claimed were “grossly offensive, or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character.”
The Crown claims the posts contained images of the complainers home, motor vehicle and registration plate, and left the person to whom the alleged comments were directed in a state of fear and alarm.
Bell pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Bail was continued and he will return to court at a later date.
