A DAD admitted smashing up his pregnant partner’s phone when he was unsure if he was the baby’s father.
Scott O’Donnell, 40, admitted shouting and swearing at his then 11-week pregnant partner in her home in Dickson Drive, Irvine on November 30, last year. He also admitted damaging her property when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on January 13.
The procurator fiscal said: “At 9.50am the complainer received a visit form her on/off partner, the accused. They do not reside together and the visit had been pre-arranged.
“The complainer briefly left the room then observed the accused going through her mobile phone contacts. After throwing her phone against the wall he shouted: ‘go and s**g about then’.
“The complainer contacted police to report the incident. Police traced the accused at his home address.”
O’Donnell’s defence solicitor told the court his client was “overwhelmed with emotion” as he was then unsure whether he was the dad or the contact he saw on her phone.
He added: “He and the complainer have made up since and had scans.”
Sheriff Sheena Fraser called for a social work report before sentencing. O’Donnell, of Mason Street, Larkhall, will return to court next month.
