ONE of Ayrshire’s most prestigious golf courses has won an award at a recent golf ceremony.
Irvine’s Dundonald Links won the Marquee Shop of the Year gong at the TGI Golf Partnership hosted Business Conference and Awards event at Trump Turnberry on Tuesday, February 8.
General Manager of Dundonald Links, Ian Ferguson, told the Times: “It was fantastic to win the award for Marquee Shop of the Year, and a huge credit to everyone involved in the project at Dundonald Links.
"To win such a highly acclaimed industry award so quickly really is testament to the team we have, who are delivering a superb retail service for our customers on a daily basis.
“The response we have received from the public since we opened the fully developed site in November has been incredible.
"The shop has been busy with both golfers and non-golfers, with many commenting on what a wonderful retail experience they have had.
“The message we really need to get across is that we don’t just cater to the golf market, we have lots of fantastic stock for those that don’t play golf too, from the likes of Ralph Lauren and Walker Slater.
"We hope the good selection of products we do stock will help us continue to grow in popularity for those in Ayrshire and beyond.
“Developing a project on this scale is not easy, and isn’t one that happens overnight.
"We have worked with an incredible team of people to help bring our vision to life and now have the most incredible venue to not only shop, but to dine too.
“We have a great team at Dundonald Links who not only continue to stock our shop with products we know our customers will love, but deliver it with incredible service.
“Our goal is to continue to deliver an exceptional service for everyone that visits Dundonald Links.
"We don’t just want to be a destination for golf, or to dine, but a destination to shop too.”
