A YOUNG Ayr man faces an allegation of sexually assaulting a youngster below the age of 13.
Alfie Stewart, 26, faced the single charge of sexual assault on a young child – in breach of section 20 of the Sexual offences (Scotland) Act 2009.
Mr Stewart, who’s address is listed as Ayr, entered no plea to the allegation when he appeared in the private petition hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court [Thursday, February 23].
Mr Stewart was committed for further examination and released on bail.
He will return to the same court at a later date with his next appearance still to be confirmed.
