SOME OF Ayrshire’s finest local businesses popped down to Irvine this week for the first ever Tastes of Ayrshire Food and Drink Festival held in the courtyard of Irvine’s Maritime Museum.
Photographer Charlie Gilmour popped along to the event to capture what the market is all about for the Times’ readers.
Nearly 1,500 visitors enjoyed the free Tastes of Ayrshire Food and Drink Festival showcasing Ayrshire and Arran’s finest food and drink.
As well as sampling and buying lots of mouth-watering goodies, visitors enjoyed chef demonstrations and Clydesdale Horse cart tours with Tasting History Scotland’s popular Carters & Coastal Culture Tour.
The festival took place on Saturday May 7 and was followed by a Pedal for Scotland Pedal Irvine event on Sunday 8 May.
One of the best parts for all involved was that the unpredictable Scottish weather held out, meaning shoppers could enjoy their products with the sun beating down.
Hundreds of cyclists and spectators gathered in the Museum Courtyard for the Pedal Irvine event the following day.
More information on the event, and any upcoming festivals, can be found on the organisers Facebook page. This can be found at: scottishmaritimemuseum.org/tastes-of-ayrshire-food-and-drink-festival/
