An Irvine woman is celebrating after being appointed to the board of one of Scotland’s leading insurance brokers.
Rena Ross has been promoted to the top table at Kelvin Smith in recognition of the part she has played in the company’s growth.
In her new position, Ms Ross will have a key role in the business’ future expansion as it looks to extend its reach in the haulage, construction and hospitality sectors.
Ms Ross said she is “excited” about the new position.
She explained: “It’s incredible to have been part of Kelvin Smith’s impressive growth in the 21 years since I joined.
“I believe the business has the team in place to continue its growth trajectory, and I’m very proud to be part of it.”
Ms Ross is one of two longstanding employees – the other is business development expert Scott Garden – who will sit on the board alongside managing director Stephen Travers.
Mr Travers said: “Finding and keeping good people is fundamental to the success of our business.”
He added: “Scott has played a key role in winning new clients, while Rena is instrumental in providing the quality service that keeps them with us. Their attitude and skills are an example to everyone in the team.”
Kelvin Smith was founded nearly 40 years ago and has established itself as one of the country’s top insurance brokers.
It is expecting £15 million in revenues this year, having added £1m each year since 2012.
