THERE was reason to celebrate for Irvine Park’s bowling team last Friday, August 5, as they retained their Irvine Bowls League title for 2022.
They pipped Irvine Winton to the title by four points after an impressive season which saw them win four and lose one of their five games.
Both sides were still able to win the league as the last round of fixtures began and Irvine Winton did all they could by beating Dreghorn 6-0.
They then had to hope their neighbours slipped up, but it wasn’t to be as they defeated Springside 7-0 in a dominant display to ensure they got to keep the Pete’s Key Store Irvine Bowls League trophy for another year.
