THE fitness suite inside Irvine's The Portal will close for a number of days next week, as it undergoes some equipment upgrades.
The upgrade and developments at the Portal will boast the latest equipment and technology from Pulse Fitness.
The new equipment will feature a bit of something for everyone, from a wide range of cardio and strength machines, free weights and benches.
KA Leisure have said: "The new strength machines use an intelligent ergonomic design for the optimum workout, with a converging and diverging axis to replicate the body's natural motion, effectively engaging all muscles involved in the exercise.
"If cardio is more your thing, the new cardio equipment is robust, reliable and low maintenance for all gym environments thanks to our space-efficient designs!"
The fitness suite will be closed for a number of days to allow the upgrades to take place.
On Saturday October 15, from 12pm, the suite will be closed before re-opening on Sunday October 16.
This will only be for one day however, as it will again close from Monday October 17, not re-opening until Thursday October 20.
However, it looks like the upgrades will be more than worth missing out on a few days at The Portal.
David Stevenson, KA Leisure Fitness and Membership Manager explained: “We’re delighted to share our plans for the refurbishment and development of the fitness suite at the Portal.
"We are also proud to be the first operator in Scotland to provide Pulse TRAKK Professional. TRAKK is a personal training app designed to track workout activity.
"With the ability to connect to Pulse Fitness equipment, TRAKK tracks distance, speed, heart rate, weight lifted and calories burned.
"TRAKK also works without Pulse equipment meaning you can use this app to manually log your workouts wherever you are.
"The brand new gym is built with our member’s needs in mind and is sure to take their training to the next level.”
And it looks like there is no better time to get involved at the new gym facilities, with KA Leisure offering an excellent promotion to celebrate the upgrades.
New members will be able to enjoy their 'no joining fee offer', which will run in line with the suite's re-opening, from Thursday October 20 until Sunday October 23 inclusive.
More details on the new facilities, and any changes to time schedules of these can be found on KA Leisure's Facebook page.
They have also shared a video which displays a 3D walkthrough of what the upgraded suite will look like upon completion.
