BOSSES at KA Leisure have now shared images inside the newly upgraded fitness suite at the Portal.
The facility was closed for a number of days last month to allow the work to go ahead, before officially re-opening on October 20.
And the Times was invited along last week to take a look at the new equipment, which we had previously only shown as concept pictures.
The new equipment, and adjusted layout of the suite, seems to be going down well with regulars - and many returning members - who have been encouraged back by the fresh look.
KA Leisure fitness and membership manager David Stevenson explained the new approach to the Times.
He explained how they have blended in additional 'free weight' facilities as well as improving their range of cardio and strength building machinery.
David said this allows them to meet the growing demand for this style of equipment, and make greater use of the space they have on offer.
He has also been delighted that machinery allows members to make use of Pulse Trakk Professional Plus - to track all of their progress towards their fitness goals.
David commented: "We are delighted to showcase the recent refurbishment and development of the Fitness Suite at The Portal. The facility boasts the latest equipment and technology from Pulse Fitness as well as some bespoke pieces such as the Quantum Trainer.
"We are also the first operator in Scotland to provide Pulse Trakk Professional Plus. The service provides our members with a fully connected fitness experience using the TRAKK wristband and console technology featured on Pulse Fitness premium equipment, users can easily track their completed workouts and transfer this data to their mobile device.
"Trakk also integrates with Tanita which provides a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis. Connected, segmental, multi-frequency body composition analysis validates results to help keep training on track.
"TRAKK shows changes in body composition over time, enhancing workout reviews and increasing secondary spending."
