POLICE officers in Ayrshire are appealing for those with information to come forward, following an alleged serious assault in Irvine.
The incident is believed to have taken place on yesterday, November 3, at around 8.15pm at the junction of Livingston Terrance and Beaton Terrace in the town.
A 35-year-old male was approached by a group of five or six young men, and was assaulted.
The man later had to be treated at Crosshouse Hospital for a serious injury which he sustained.
The men who approached him are believed to be aged between 18 and 25 and were all dressed in black. Officers says they are keen to speak to them.
Detective Constable Fraser Murray, of Saltcoats CID, said: “I am asking anyone who was in the area before and after this assault to get in touch as you may have information that could help with our investigation.
“I am also asking anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV that might assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”
