POLICE are hoping to trace a van driver who may be able to help with enquiries into a fatal crash on the A70 last month.
A Renault Kangoo van and a blue Audi TT car were involved in a collision a short distance from the Holmston Roundabout, between Ayr and Coylton, at around 5.55am on Friday, October 28.
The driver of the Renault – 46-year-old Shona McKinlay, from Dreghorn – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash remain ongoing as they continue to appeal for information and witnesses.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of the Road Policing Unit in Irvine, said: “We are keen to hear from any motorists who were on the A70 between Ayr and Coylton that morning and may have seen the vehicles involved, or has potential dashcam footage from the area still recorded.
“We are also looking to speak to the driver of a white van, who may have been nearby and seen the Audi shortly before the incident.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101 with reference 0471 of October 28."
