Carer vacancies have opened up in Ayrshire in an attempt to alleviate the ongoing “crisis” within the sector.

In total, there are 800 roles available in Scotland through Four Seasons Health Care with several on offer throughout Ayrshire - and with Irvine hghlighted as a primary area.

The introduction of these new roles comes after 99 per cent of NHS leaders agreed there was a workforce crisis.

Michelle Logan, a care home assistant practitioner with Four Seasons, said: “I first decided to begin a career in care after a personal experience of looking after my father led me to me discover how meaningful it could be to support and enrich the lives of the older generation.

“I love that I’m able to continue to develop and progress through programmes such as these that enable me to work alongside registered nurses to deliver such important services to our residents.

“Spending time with our residents is my favourite part of coming to work, knowing at the end of the day that you have helped enrich their lives is such a rewarding part of my role.”

No prior experience is needed for the roles as training can be provided to successful applicants.

Care assistants and senior care assistants with Four Seasons can undertake the accredited Care Home Assistant Practitioner (CHAP) programme that will allow them to work alongside registered nurses.
