EMERGENCY crews attended the scene of a crash on the A78 this morning.
So far, it has been confirmed that one vehicle was involved in a collision - with one casualty taken to Crosshouse hospital.
Crews have been responding to the incident, which took place this morning (February 1), near the Eglinton Interchange.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have confirmed that they sent three appliances to the scene - while the ambulance service also sent a vehicle along with two paramedics.
Police Scotland remain in attendance following the incident.
A SFRS spokesperson confirmed: “We were alerted at 8.23am on Wednesday, February 1, to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle on the A78 near Eglinton Interchange.
“Operations control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene.
"One casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"Crews have now left this incident."
While a Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We received a call at 08:23 to attend a road traffic collision on the A78, near Kilwinning.
"One ambulance and two paramedic response units were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to University Hospital Crosshouse.”
And a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: “Officers were called to the A78 between the Eglinton and Warrix Interchanges, near Irvine, at around 8.30am on Monday, February 1, 2023, following a crash involving one vehicle.
“Emergency services attended and one woman has been passed into the care of the ambulance service.
“Officers currently remain at scene.”
