A fast-growing construction and property business has moved into its new headquarters in Irvine and is now on the search for up to a dozen staff.
Scottish-based Edison Group, which operates throughout the UK and internationally, officially opened the doors to its new North Ayrshire office in mid-January following the refurbishment of the two-storey, category B-listed building in High Street.
Formerly home to an estate agency and solicitors, the 19th century premises will be "the focal point" of Edison Group's work to plot its long-term strategic development.
An extra 12 administrative staff members are being sought to join the team, including people experienced in finance and HR.
Calum Melville (pictured), Edison Group founder and CEO, said: “Irvine is a great location for us, offering lots of opportunities to win construction, refurbishment and project management contracts throughout Ayrshire and beyond.
"We already have strong relationships in the town and the central location of the office means that there is plenty of car parking for all prospective members of the team.

“We are firmly in the market to acquire businesses that are complementary to our group activities and are projecting sales of £20 million on a rolling 12 months basis by the end of 2023, driven both by further, already-planned strategic acquisitions and organic growth.
“Edison Group has decades of experience in starting, buying, building and growing businesses, both organically and by acquisition, driving operational and financial excellence and significantly increasing value for all stakeholders, so we believe we have the right ingredients to succeed in a challenging environment.”
Late last year the firm acquired Glasgow-based GDC Design which is projecting sales of £4 million in 2023.
It operates throughout Scotland and as far south as Birmingham, providing premium bespoke manufacturing, interior fit, design and project management to local authorities, NHS, central government, charities, dentists and hospitality, retail and construction clients.
Calum added that the company will be investing "substantial sums to drive growth over the next few years".
Edison Group’s residential, commercial, hotel and serviced accommodation divisions made solid progress in 2022 adding £2.7 million of properties to the portfolio, which is projected to grow to 90 properties by the end of this year.
The group recently invested six figures to take a 50 per cent controlling interest in The Property Solutions Company which trades in residential and commercial property, also offering assisted sales to clients.
