NORTH Ayrshire's biggest kitchen suppliers are currently undergoing a major redevelopment.
Work is currently ongoing at Howdens in Irvine's South Newmoor industrial estate.
It is still business as usual at the moment, though those visiting the warehouse may notice a lot of work going on.
The warehouse is being completely refitted, with new showroom displays, offices and a state of the art design studio.
This design studio - which will include a TV for customers to view Howdens design concepts - is one of the features that staff are most excited about. They say it will provide "the ultimate comfortable experience" for all visitors.
Their trade counter will also be revamped, offering thousands more stock than previously available.
The redesign will also see the warehouse changed to be more open plan - to allow customers easier interaction with staff on site.
Making use of the previously empty warehouse adjacent to their property, Howdens will also be expanding. Upon completion, the new showroom and warehouse will be around 236 square metres in size.
This will also feature nine new displays, making selecting your ideal kitchen that bit easier.
Depot manager Brian Strain showed the Times around the site while the developments are carried out, and told of his hopes in light of the ongoing work.
He commented: "I'm absolutely delighted to be opening the doors soon to our massive new showroom, and a whole new experience for our account holders and their clients.
"With us already the biggest supplier of kitchens locally, it’s huge for Irvine and surrounding areas to now have on their doorstep the biggest kitchen showroom, and selection of ranges to choose from.
"This maintains our commitment to fantastic service levels here in the branch and we can’t wait to share this with you all."
It isn't just the customers who will benefit, with added features created to help the nine employees at the Irvine store, including a new staff room.
While work is ongoing, we won't have long to wait until we can see the new look for ourselves, with scheduled completion being the first week in March.
