North Ayrshire residents can have their say on plans for an updated transport strategy as North Ayrshire Council launches a consultation.
Members of the public can now read and give feedback on the council’s draft report for their new Local Transport and Active Travel Strategy.
The online consultation will be open until April 23 with more events across March and April to be announced later.
Councillor Tony Gurney, Cabinet Member for Place, said: “We really welcome the feedback that we received during the first stage and would actively encourage participation in this next phase of consultation.
“Transport affects everyone in North Ayrshire, for example enabling people to access employment, education, healthcare, social and leisure activities.
“Enhancing the transport network is a key driver to improve the local economy, improve the environment, increase social inclusion and deliver health benefits through active travel.
“The draft strategy aims to provide a framework for investment and decision making up to 2028 and identifies our draft priorities to improve transport across North Ayrshire in this period.”
Following the consultation the council will consider public feedback, presenting the final report to the council’s committee in May.
The draft comes after local people and stakeholders were asked their thoughts on improving local transport.
