FAMILY and friends of Andrew Linton are continuing their pleas to the public to help trace the missing Kilwinning man.
It comes one week on from his disappearance from a home in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning.
Andrew, 43, left the property at around 5.35am on Wednesday, February 22.
And family are growing increasingly concerned as "there has not been a sighting since he left the house, he has just vanished".
A search in the Corsehill area was organised earlier this week, while family and friends also took to the Stevenston and Ardeer area over the weekend, to no avail as of yet.
They wish to share their appeals to as many people as possible "to get him home to his family and friends where he belongs".
His disappearance has been described as very out of character, and the family are keen for anyone with any information to come forward.
They are also keen to extend the search as far as possible, as he could now be "further away" - stating in particular that he often visited "Loch Lomond and surrounds" and that he had a trip their planned to meet family early this week.
Andrew is described as white, around five feet and six inches in height, of stocky build and that he speaks with a local Ayrshire accent.
When he was last seen he was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a light-coloured beanie hat, black trousers and black boots.
It is thought he may also have on a grey hooded jumper and be carrying a large red rucksack with black lace crisscrossed.
Inspector Alex Beagrie, of Irvine Police Station, said: “For him to leave his home and family without letting them know where he is or getting in touch is not like him at all and is concerning.
“Officers have been checking CCTV from the local area and in the town centre but so far there have been no further sightings of him.
“Local bus and taxi companies have been alerted, as have our colleagues at British Transport Police. We also have officers, including specialist search teams, searching for him.
“If you have seen Andrew, or have any information about where he is, then please get in touch with police as soon as you can.”
Information can be passed to Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference number 0514 of Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
