A MAN has been ordered to pay compensation after being convicted of assaulting a young girl and chasing a teenage boy with a knife.
Laurie Miller appeared on indictment at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
Charges against the 42-year-old stated that on August 15, 2021, at Main Street in Kilwinning, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, uttering threats and brandishing a knife.
According to court papers, he assaulted a 15-year-old boy by spitting at the youngster and pursuing him while in possession of the weapon.
He also assaulted a 15-year-old girl by spitting at her and striking her on the face.
A fourth charge stated he was in possession of a lock back Stanley knife.
Miller, of Fergushill Road, Kilwinning, will be supervised for 12 months and must pay £200 in compensation.
