A MAN who wrecked his girlfriend’s home then sent her a picture of him holding a knife has been caged for more than five months for abusive behaviour.
The Times previously reported that George McKnight, 31, denied a charge of engaging in a course of behaviour which was abusive of his partner or ex partner.
Court papers stated that he prevented the woman from accessing her home in Kilwinning, sent abusive text messages to her, and sent an image of himself holding a knife within her property.
McKnight also damaged the victim’s property, removed CCTV cameras from the wall and damaged doors and radiators.
He committed the offence while on bail for a separate matter, granted in July 2022.
At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week McKnight, of Cambusdoon, Kilwinning, was sentenced to 163 days in prison.
