North Ayrshire has been ranked among the cheapest places to buy a home in the UK with the council area being cheaper than places like Blackpool and North Lanarkshire.

This comes as many first-time buyers look around for their first home amid rising inflation and high-interest rates.

While many base their decision to climb the property ladder on factors like local schools and where their family and friends live, many also look to lower prices.

With that said, the property experts over at Online Mortgage Advisor have analysed the average house price in every UK local authority to find the 10 cheapest for 2023.
