POLICE have confirmed that a car crashed into an Irvine shop.
The incident took place on Thursday March 23, in the town's Riverway Retail Park.
Officers were unable to confirm exactly which shop the vehicle crashed into, though eyewitnesses said the incident affected the M&S Foodhall at the site.
They added that in the aftermath, the area around the shop front was cordoned off to allow for the removal of glass and rubble.
It is not believed that any long-term or severe structural damage was caused.
While Police Scotland added that despite the crash, there were no reported injuries.
A force spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Thursday, 23 March, 2023, police were called to reports of a car crashing into a shop premises at the Riverway Retail Park, Irvine.
“Officers attended and there were no reports of any injuries.”
