This week’s Ayrshire entertainment roundup includes kids’ films, musicals – and a whole host of tribute acts.
Come What May: The Ultimate Tribute to Moulin Rouge at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr on Thursday, April 6
Sweeney Entertainments and Sisco Productions bring the ultimate tribute to the hit film to Ayr. The all singing, all dancing extravaganza stars Robin Windsor and a cast of top West End performers.
It will feature such timeless classics as Come What May, Your Song, Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friends, Roxanne and Lady Marmalade, plus hits from the Greatest Showman and other iconic movie musicals.

The Family Film presents Sing at Irvine’s Harbour Arts Centre on Thursday, April 6 at 10am
The wee ones will enjoy singing along with Buster Moon and Johnny in a city of humanoid animals. A hustling theatre owner attempts to save his theatre with a singing competition.
The event is free but booking via the Harbour Arts Centre is required.
Freckfest Present The Filthy Tongues at the Harbour Arts Centre on Friday, April 7
Alt rockers The Filthy Tongues have occupied a unique place at the heart of Scottish alternative rock.
In a colourful career the band have worked and toured with Blondie, The Ramones, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth from the Talking Heads, Vic Chesnutt, New York Dolls, Big Audio Dynamite, Aztec Camera, as well as working with The Skids in recent years.
When listening to The Filthy Tongues, musical critics recognise Pixies, Bunnymen, Joy Division, Nick Cave and Scott Walker influences, but the style of this ever evolving band is strikingly and individually their own.

The Cavern Beatles at Ayr’s Gaiety Theatre on Thursday, April 13
The band, band fully endorsed and licensed by the legendary Cavern Club in Mathew Street Liverpool, return to The Gaiety with their remarkable show.
The show replicates in both sight and sound the excitement and energy of Beatlemania, the psychedelic era of Sgt Pepper, and the creative masterpieces of The White Album and Abbey Road.

Acoustic McCartney and Sting, at the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine, Friday, April 14
Edinburgh Festival Fringe award winner Gus Boyd provides two shows in one concert.
His interpretations of Paul McCartney’s work with The Beatles, Wings and as a solo artist will include such famous hits as Drive My Car, Yesterday, Let It Be and Hey Jude.
The Sting selection will include interpretations of Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, Fields of Gold, Every Breath You Take and Englishman in New York.
