A MAN has been sentenced after he stole from an Irvine supermarket.
Alan Troy, 54, pleaded guilty to one charge when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, June 2.
He admitted that, on May 2 of this year, he stole a quantity of alcohol and a shopping basket from Aldi on East Road in the town.
This offence was commited while Troy, of Old Raise Road in Saltcoats, was out on bail - granted at the same court in April - for other matters.
When he was sentenced on Friday, Troy was given a Community Payback Order (CPO), which will see him placed under social work supervision for a period of 18 months.
