Irvine Times: Broomlands Primary pupils

Generous youngsters from Broomlands Primary School raised £260 for the charity Leukaemia Care.

Money was raised by pupils who brought their pocket money into assembly.

A cheque was presented to Elspeth Brewis, a volunteer with Leukaemia Care, by primary 7 pupil Caitlyn McGeachy and primary 1 pupil Rebecca McKenzie. 

Irvine Times: The official opening of the new Dalry Primary

Pupils were very impressed as the new Dalry Primary School building was officially opened in June 2008.

Irvine Times: Glebe Primary pupils enjoyed their 2008 fun run

Energetic pupils from Glebe Primary took part in a fun run organised by Tesco. Around 160 youngsters from primaries 4 to 7 got in on the action as they ran the 2 km distance on the school playing fields on Friday.

The chocolate fountain was a huge hit with kids at the 2008 Loans Gala Day.

Irvine Times: Chess champ Ryan Wilson

Ryan Wilson, a pupil at St John’s Primary in Stevenston, was crowned North Ayrshire Junior Chess Champion for the second year running.
