UPDATE: Joseph Shields has now been traced safe and well.
POLICE are appealing for assistance to trace an Irvine man last seen nearly 24 hours ago.
Joseph Shields was last seen at around 6pm on Tuesday, June 20, in the Castle Street area of Glasgow.
Police say their concerns for his well-being are now growing, and are appealing for public assistance to help trace the 45-year-old.
Joseph is described as white and around six feet tall. He has a medium build with cropped brown hair.
When last seen (pictured), he was known to be wearing a light pink T-shirt, dark trousers and white trainers.
He has been known to travel to the Portsmouth and Carlisle areas, and police say enquiries are ongoing to establish his whereabouts.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are concerned for his well-being and are appealing for any information on his whereabouts to trace him as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well.
"Anyone who believes they may have seen Joseph or has any information which could help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3073 of June 20, 2023."
