POLICE are appealing for information after a mobile welfare unit was taken from a layby on the A78 in Irvine.
Officers say that the 'Garik Armadillo' unit was taken from a layby on the busy stretch of road some time between Tuesday, May 30 and Friday, June 2.
The unit is a large, portable facility, containing a canteen, private WC facilities and drying/changing/generator room for workers.
Police are now appealing for anyone with any information about the unit's disappearance to get in touch.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "If you noted anything suspicious or captured dashcam footage of evidential value, please call 101, quoting crime report no. UA04470623."
