A new store opening in Irvine next month is to honour a charity for the work it does to support local people.
B&M will make a donation to Victim Support Scotland, as well as giving members of the charity's team the VIP treatment, for the work they do.
The discount retailer is to open its second store in the town at 8am on Saturday, August 12 - adding to exisiting premises on Lamont Drive.
The latest shop is set to be a big one, after the company took possession of the previous Argos and Halfords stores on East Road - shop space totalling 17,279sq ft.
The store is to a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors and bringing a welcome boost to the local economy as it creates 30 jobs for local people.
Victim Support Scotland support victims of crime, witnesses, and their family members, regardless of their circumstances.
It offers bespoke support, personalised to the needs of each individual. This includes practical help, emotional support, and guidance through the criminal justice system.
The charity empowers people to cope with the aftermath of crime and find the strength to move forward in their lives.
It also advocates for positive improvements within the criminal justice system, working alongside key criminal justice agencies, local organisations and the third sector.
That is exactly why staff at the store are delighted to be able to support their work as they open up in Irvine.
The store manager said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“Victim Support Scotland really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done.
"We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
