Some 1,800 people have joined in the fun at the North Ayrshire mobile youth centre this summer.
The play facility has been out and about around the region and children, young people and families have enjoyed the fun, free summer offerings.
Visiting each of the mainland localities, the 7.5-tonne mobile youth centre truck was custom-built for delivery of youth work.
Part of 2023’s ‘Take Time’ campaign, the free summer activities for families have put health and wellbeing into focus without anyone having to travel too far from home.
Already rolling through Irvine, Kilwinning, the North Coast and the Three Towns, each of the afternoon sessions delivered so far have gone down a treat with locals.
With a petting zoo, inflatables,, wellbeing workshops, mental health focus, cost-of-living information stalls and much more, there’s something for everyone.
On Wednesday, August 9 from 1pm to 4pm, the MYC will be at Ardrossan South Beach and then on Thursday, August 10 from 12noon to 3pm, it will be at Kilbirnie public park.
Councillor Chloe Robertson, North Ayrshire's young people’s champion, said: “As a young person myself, I understand the pressure that young people can have.
“From trying to fit in, understanding who you are and finding a sense of belonging and identity, to doing well at school, planning for the future and at the same time juggling friendships, studies and socialising with all the hormones thrown in, I can relate … it can be a lot.
“And then there’s the constant pressure to look as good as the filters do on social media and deal with the ever-prevalent and worrying problem of cyberbullying.
“So I am glad that as well as having a chance to have some carefree summer fun, young people and their families are taking advantage of the safe and supportive spaces and meaningful activities that youth services are providing this summer.”
Councillor Jean McClung, North Ayrshire’s mental health champion, added: “I am delighted that so many residents have taken advantage of the ‘Take Time’ roadshow sessions and what a brilliant job our youth workers are doing.
"This is the first time the mobile youth centre tour has been livered in this way and it is really encouraging to hear that people have been using this opportunity to take part.”
