AN AYRSHIRE man who admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner in Irvine is behind bars.
Joseph Smith, 22, pleaded guilty to one charge relating to the incident on July 14 of this year.
Smith, of McKenzie Drive in Kilmarnock, admitted acting in this manner, which was likely to cause fear and alarm, at an address in Seaton Terrace in Irvine.
He did so by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and uttering threats of violence.
The offence was committed less than two weeks after he had been granted bail at Glasgow and Strathkelvin Sheriff Court, on July 3.
As he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to face this latest offence on Wednesday, August 9, Smith was sentenced to 40 days in prison.
