Marymass finally kicks off tonight, with the opening ceremony and the selection of the Captain of the Carters.
The event kicks off 10 days of fun in Irvine, including this weekend's Fourth Port Parade and the crowning of the Marymass Queen on Sayurday, August 26 and all the fun on the moor later that day, including the legendary greasy pole competition.
Two men are in the running for Captain of the Carters this year - last year's captain Gordon Storrar and former jockey Gregor Smith.
The captaincy will be decided by a vote tonight and the winner will be announced at Irvine Townhouse at around 9pm.
This year's Marymass Queen has been confirmed as Rebecca Orr - who will be officially crowned on Marymass Saturday.
Joining Rebecca as Marys this year will be Emily Muir, Hollie Surgenor, Summer Henderson and Freya Fitzsimmons.
