THE reopening date has been announced for a popular Irvine venue which has been closed for more than three years.
The owners of The Clubhouse Bar and Kitchen announced earlier this month that the venue would be making its much-anticipated return.
People in Irvine began reminiscing of days and nights gone by in the popular bar on East Road.
Its closure left a gaping hole in the Irvine nightlife scene - which made for plenty of excitement around its return.
And after a number of teasers on social media this week surrounding the ongoing work in renovating the venue for re-opening, a date has now been set for the bar to open its doors once again - and it's fair to say that the timing is perfect.
A familiar face will be heading up the first two events, which will take place on Marymass Friday and Saturday (August 25 and 26).
The first event will be a launch party, to be held from 9pm on Friday.
Former resident DJ Daz Scott, real name Daryl Stevenson, will be taking up his old spot once again and will be playing "all night long" during the event, which will run until 1am.
The local DJ will be returning again on Marymass Saturday, again beginning at 9pm, for "Daz's Gaff Launch Party".
Daryl will be playing alongside special guest DJ NIAMH, and anyone heading along to the event - which will run until 1am - can "expect all things house, techno and dance".
And the returning resident DJ is hoping these events will be the first of many in the new look Clubhouse.
Daryl says he will be launching his own club night, with Daz's Gaff expected to be a regular feature on every second Saturday, where the DJ will invite other talented artists along to perform.
He commented: "(I) Canny wait to see wit happens next with it."
