An Irvine man has appeared in court charged with barging into a house in the town and claiming to be armed with a gun.
James Aitken denies claims around an alleged incident at a property in Bilby Terrace on October 2 last year.
The 22-year-old is accused of causing fear and alarm by repeatedly kicking a door at the property and of entering the premises uninvited.
It’s also alleged that after entering the property he shouted and swore, demanded to be told the names of various members of the public, and, while holding an unknown implement, that he stated he had a firearm.
Mr Aitken, of Gottries Road, is also accused of breaching a bail condition not to commit any criminal offences while the subject of an undertaking to appear at a court hearing on October 6.
His bail was continued when the case called at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and he will return to court to stand trial at a later date.
