Prestwick Airport has issued a warning to passengers heading to the airport ahead of this weekend’s International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight.
Tens of thousands are expected to head to the South Ayrshire coastline from September 8 to 10 to enjoy the airborne displays.
However, the airport is warning passengers to allow for extra time to get to the terminal with heavy traffic expected in the area all weekend.

A spokesperson said: “A large number of spectators are expected to attend the show, held at Low Green in Ayr.
“This may cause roads surrounding the airport and public transport to be busy over the course of the weekend.
“Please can all passengers travelling to the airport this weekend plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey to ensure you arrive on time for your departing flight.”
